Carbon Copy Printer  Print to multiple trays and multiple printers page by page or full files

FAQ

Please ask any questions or suggestions at support@traction-software.co.uk   this is a new tool and we use it a lot ourselves and we hope you like it too, any suggestions are welcome. we want it to be used by as many people as possible, it could save lot's of time, money and paper.

Q. Is it possible to have multiple carbon copy printers with different setups?
A. No - not multiple Carbon Copy Printers, But you can use Filtering setup which can handle multiple setups based on print name.  so for example all print jobs with name 'invoice' can use a certain print setup, which will print a certain way to the destination printers setup for that setup.
And you can have multiple of these setups, so you just print everything to one Carbon Copy Printer Driver and the rest is handled by the software. e.g. filter on 'invoice' print on Tray 1 Simplex, filter by 'statement' print on Tray 2 duplex, filter on 'sales' print on Tray 1 and copy on Tray 2,  filter on 'label' print on Label Printer, print scale 150% larger.

Q. Is it possible to add a header or footer page to every print?
A. Yes, there is an Add PDF To Print option in Advanced Options. You have the option of both or either and it can also be controlled by page and tray, see conditions examples.

Q. Is it possible to print with or without Duplex?
A. Yes, in Advanced Options. Click on Conditions and in there you can add control e.g. SET DUPLEX=ALL  e.g. SET SIMPLEX=Tray 1, see conditions examples.

Q. Is it possible to print say to a Label Printer 130% larger?
A. Yes, in Advanced Options. Click on Print Scaling and change the scale amount, you can also automate this further by using filtering on print job names e.g. any name with 'Label' in the print job name then auto print this way - see Filtering examples.

Q. We work at a Hotel and every invoice we need to print on two printers, is this possible?
A. Yes, in the main window select Print to Printers  Click the plus '+' to add more to the selection e.g.  Xerox WorkCentre 5855 PS, Canon D1500 Series UFR II

Now, print to the "Carbon Copy Printer" printer driver and it will print the output to both printers.

NOTE: Don't forget to clear the Trays for default tray or specify which trays you want to print on for each printer separated with a pipe symbol |. e.g. Automatically Select | Drawer 1

Q. We work at a Restaurant and every order we need to print on three printers, is this possible?
A. Yes, in the main window select Print to Printers  Click the plus '+' to add more to the selection e.g.  Zebra 1 Chef, Zebra 2 Cus, Zebra 3 Copy

Now, print to the "Carbon Copy Printer" printer driver and it will print the output to all 3 printers.

NOTE: For these type of printers there probably won't be trays to select  -this probably won't apply.

NOTE: Some of these type of printers won't work as they only support Text Control Commands and not raster image printing.

Q. Is it possible to print say the first and last page only?
A. Yes, in Advanced Options. Click on Print Pages Enter Print Pages: 1, last
 

NOTE: This will print the first and last page of any document printed to carbon copy printer
